Finnish archipelago moves to power ferries with local green hydrogen

Finnish project developer Flexens is carrying out a feasibility study for the production of green hydrogen as fuel for ferries sailing Baltic waters near the country's Åland archipelago region.

Hydrogen as a marine fuel for large vessels is a popular concept in many countries aiming to make their transport sectors more green. Åland, Finland's autonomous archipelago region, is no exception.

By November, Finnish project developer Flexans seeks to conclude feasibility studies of its Power2AX project aimed at greening the production of hydrogen for use in ferries sailing the Baltic Sea.
