Nel enters deal for large-scale hydrogen plant

Spanish power utility Iberdrola has signed an MoU with the hydrogen firm on developing a technological value chain for green H2 in Spain, initially with a 200-MW production facility.

First off, it's about fertilizer, which could be seen as a suitable analogy for Nel's continued massive growth amid the nourishing mulch of green hydrogen, now further manifesting in the form of a major Memorandum of Understanding signed with one of Europe's largest power companies, Spain's Iberdrola.

The idea is to build an electrolysis plant with more than 200 MW in production capacity in 2023, following on the heels of an 20-MW facility for installation next year stemming from an agreement Nel entered earlier this month.
