Statkraft, Nel to partner on 50-MW hydrogen project

The two companies will work together with steelmaker Celsa and real estate group Mo Industripark to establish a full value chain for green hydrogen in Northern Norway.

Since this summer, Statkraft has had big ambitions for making green hydrogen for steel production. A facility going by the name of Hydrogen Hub Mo has now lured a new partner to the table – namely Danish-Norwegian H2 company Nel.

Nel and Stakraft will collaborate on supplying electrolyzers rated up to 50 MW in green hydrogen production capacity for steelmaker Celsa Armeringsstål's operations at the Mo industrial park in the Northern Scandinavian country, Nel informs in a press statement.
