Velux CEO on major climate compensation move: It will pay off in the future

Velux plans to erase its carbon footprint from the history books by planting trees in a vast area, but this endeavor is motivated by cold financial calculations, says the window group's CEO to CleantechWatch.

It's not merely for philanthropic reasons that the Velux Group plans to invest roughly DKK 1 billion (EUR 134.3 million) in a number of major forest projects and green initiatives over the next decade.

It also makes sense business-wise, and the group expects its big investment to pay off in the future, says Velux Group Chief Executive David Briggs following Monday's presentation of the group's major climate endeavor.
