Danish PtX project will light the way to green transport

With hydrogen firm Nel on board, a Danish PtX consortium dreaming big is one step closer to realizing phase one of its efforts to produce green hydrogen on a large scale. The project will show the world that this is the right way to render transport green, says Nel SVP.

Despite a reputation of being among the leaders in climate change mitigation efforts, Denmark has so far lagged behind within hydrogen production, with countries like the Netherlands, South Korea and Germany taking the lead.

The Scandinavian country aims to catch up to these with an Ørsted-led consortium's plans to establish a 1.3-GW facility in Avedøre near Copenhagen by 2030.
