Chemicals giant wants to lead the European battery revolution

German company Basf, which has two large cathode factories, has put itself in the driver's seat of the European battery industry, where supply and demand are still being determined.

Over the past 155 years, the group has discovered or commercialized a good portion of the modern world's discoveries. It was behind the production of synthetic ammonia using the Haber-Bosch process, and methanol, as well as synthetic colors for textiles.
