Danish-Norwegian hydrogen firm buys into Nikola Motor

The fast-growing Danish-Norwegian hydrogen company Nel is buying into the US-based semi-truck manufacturer Nikola Motor, thereby further strengthening the connection between the two cleantech companies.

The one has taken position as one of the world's leading companies within hydrogen production and refueling. The other is among the global leaders for developing hydrogen fuel cell-operated semi-trucks. An even though one is domiciled in Denmark and Norway and the other in California, they are now starting upon a closer cooperation.

Danish-Norwegian Nel has decided to invest USD 5 million in the Nikola Motor, thereby becoming a minority shareholder of the latter, which is presently busy raising capital to actualize its vision to establish within a few years a nation-wide US network of 700 hydrogen refueling stations for servicing semi-trucks and cars.
