Research: Electric cars could get 1,000 km range

Norwegian researchers say that they have found a way to maximize battery potential.

Norwegian researchers have cracked a code which could enable electric cars, mobile phones, tablets and other technology to enjoy far higher battery capacity than currently possible.

"You can say that we have found that 'x factor' we were looking for. This has huge potential and is something which researchers the world over are investigating," says Arve Holt from the Institute for Energy Technology, based in the Norwegian town of Kjeller, in a press release.
