Trade war threatens US auto exports

General Motors, Ford and Tesla will be affected by Chinese import tariffs, writes The Wall Street Journal.

The trade war, started by US President Donald Trump, between the US and China is undermining the US's growing role as an automotive exporter, writes The Wall Street Journal.

Throughout the last few years, non-US car manufacturers such as BMW, Daimler and Volvo have invested billions of dollars in expanding their US factories for the purpose of exporting to China.
