BP invests in electric vehicle charging firm

Electric car charging will grow into a large part of BP's business in the future, says the CEO after investing in a mobile charging company which will help explore the market.

BP is now going into the charging of electric cars with an investment in the US company FreeWire. The USD 5 million investment will be made via the company BP Ventures. 

FreeWire makes mobile charging systems for electric cars. BP's plan is to role out FreeWire's Mobi Chargers across different stations in the UK and Europe over 2018.
