Tesla's battery problems could be bigger than anticipated

Anonymous employees at Tesla's battery factory Gigafactory say that the electric car manufacturer is far from producing at the speed it promised to investors and customers. They argue that a large share of manual production could cause serious safety problems. Tesla strongly denies that there are issues with safety.

Tesla customers, who are already facing delayed deliveries of their purchased Model 3 electric cars, may have to be even more patient, reports US media CNBC. The media suggests that production problems at the US car manufacturer's battery factory Gigafactory could be worse than previously expected.

In November last year it emerged that Tesla was having difficulty keeping up with demand. Founder Elon Musk acknowledged to analysts that it was facing a "bottleneck" in the mass production of the long awaited Model 3s battery packs.
